Two travelers wrapped up their stay in Finland by celebrating their Airbnb host’s birthday so he wouldn’t spend the day solo!
The travelers, Jessica Judith and her friend Dani, shared their experience on social media, posting a TikTok video of themselves singing “Happy Birthday” to the host, identified as Tarmo — and the clip has since amassed more than 2.5 million likes.
In the video, posted Friday, Dec. 13, the women can be seen clapping and singing over Tarmo, who sat in front of a small dessert adorned with birthday candles. The trio then shared a sweet hug before cutting into the dessert.
“Our airbnb host was alone on his birthday and God knew to put two women who care too much about birthdays to celebrate with him,” Judith wrote over the viral clip.
She also added some more context in the caption, revealing that Tarmo was the “best host” she’s ever had.
The host “took us to watch the reindeers,” she wrote in the message, which was originally penned in Spanish. “And every day he was waiting for us at his house with coffee and cookies ready.”
“We love you so much Tarmo!” she continued. “What an honor to be able to celebrate your birthday with you!!!”

Judith also posted the heartwarming clip on Instagram, where she revealed that she and Dani have had “magical” experiences while traveling together before, but nothing has compared to their time with Tarmo during the Finland getaway.
The travelers chose to stay at the place “because all the reviews” talked about the host, who lives in a house near the Airbnb alone with his dog Peppi, and “how sweet” he is.
The duo reciprocated by celebrating his special day on their final day in the rental, Judith explained, writing that “even though he told us he had nothing to celebrate his birthday, we decided that we ALL deserve a special birthday” — especially Tarmo “after the amazing treatment he gave us.”
Judith also revealed in the message that she and Dani “didn’t speak the same language” so they used a translator to communicate with the host. In another TikTok, she said they had “amazing conversations” together this way.
“Everything was so special and at the end of our stay,” she wrote, adding that at the end of their trip, he told them, “I hope this is not the last time I see you in my lifetime.”
Across Judith’s posts about her experience in Finland, commenters praised the girls for celebrating Tarmo.
“His mom would love you two for that🫶🏻,” one person wrote. “That’s it,” another said. “You guys gotta go visit him every year for his birthday 😩😩😩😩😩.”
Others clamored for the Airbnb listing so they too can meet the host. “Drop the Airbnb link so we can take turns and go for his bday,” one person commented.
“Can you drop the Airbnb listing PLEASE,” another wrote. “I need to support this man. He deserves the world.”
Airbnb even replied, “When the guests make the host feel hosted 🥹.”
