INEC: 79 Parties To Provide Candidate In 2019 Election

ELECTION: 79 out of 91 political parties to provide candidates for the 2019 Election

As reported, no less than 79 political parties will be providing candidates forth coming Presidential Election come 2019.

On Friday in Abuja, the Chairman, Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu said, “only 79 out of the 89 political parties participating in the elections have Presidential candidates”.

Nigeria currently has 91 registered political parties out of which 79 would provide a presidential candidate. Also, while 1, 803 candidates would vie for the 109 seats in the Senate, 4, 548 would be vying for the 360 House of Representatives seats.

Also in the senate, 1,803 candidates would strive for the 109 seats while, at the House of Representative would be 4,548 to contend for the 360 seats.
