Types of Diabetes:
1. Juvenile (young)onset or insulin dependent or type 1
2. Adult onset or insulin independent or type 2
3. Gestational diabetes.
This types affects children mostly, about 5-10% of the general public. It manifests between age of 10 and 15years. This types needs exo-genous insulin to survive due to insufficient endo-genous insulin.
Exo –genous insulin is artificial insulin
Endo-genous is the main insulin inside the body that breaks down sugar and transfer it into the body cell.
It affects 90-95% of the general public and mostly affects the adult and its most common type of diabetes. In this case the patients has little available insulin but not enough to carry out the action.
This one affects women that are pregnant, about 2-5% of the pregnant women population. Although women with this type , after delivery the issue is resolved but later on they are likely to develop type 2 diabetes .
Women with gestational diabetes should try much as possible to monitor their blood sugar tightly with a physical to avoid pregnancy complications like giving birth to macro-somia (overweight)baby which might lead to c.s (Operation).
