Lagos roads to be completed in no time.
Massive progress had been achieved on Section one of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway reconstruction project.
Mr Adedamola Kuti, The Federal Controller of Works in Lagos on Saturday said that the Federal Ministry of Works is working towards prompt completion of all road projects in Lagos.
Kuti reported that massive advancement had been attained on Section one of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway reformation project.
It was revealed that Section one of the project encompasses from Ojota Lagos to Sagamu Interchange and it is being handled by Julius Berger Nigeria Plc, while Section two being constructed by RCC, extends from Sagamu Interchange to Ibadan.
“The most important thing is that the contractor is on ground and is working. Right now, Julius Berger is working on the 4km stretch that should be completed any moment from now.
“Work has already commenced at the section very close to the Redeemed Christian Church of God. It has also been opened to traffic.
“For now, the 4km stretch being worked on by Julius Berger around Kilometre 20 and 21, should be completed within this month and that section would be opened to traffic,’’.
Kuti said that the Lagos-Badagry Expressway project had just been granted by the Federal Executive Council. He said the work would soon commence from Agbara Junction towards Badagry to Seme border. He added that the project was awarded to Messrs CGJ Nigeria Ltd.
“The project was just awarded last week. Hopefully, before the end of this year, there should be an official commissioning of the project, ‘’ he said.
The controller stated that it was tough to ascribe a percentage to the construction done so far because additional works were newly added to the project.
