The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) says Air Task Force (ATF) of Operation Lafiya Dole has destroyed a former Boko Haram Terrorist Tactical Headquarters at Sabon Tumbun in the Lake Chad Green Fringes.
Air Commodore Ibikunle Daramola, The NAF Director of Public Relations and Information, made this announcement in a statement to on Friday in Abuja.
The operation was carried out Thursday, According to Daramola.
“As Operation Green Sweep entered Day two on Nov.15, the Air Task Force (ATF) of Operation LAFIYA DOLE conducted air strikes that led to the destruction of a former tactical headquarters of the Al-Barnawi faction of Boko Haram Terrorist (BHT) Sect at Sabon Tumbun in the Lake Chad Green Fringes.”
The Director of Public Relations added that the attack was conducted following credible human intelligence reports indicating that the Boko haram terrorists were recuperating in a group of buildings in the middle of the settlement.
”Accordingly, following confirmatory Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions, the ATF detailed an Alpha Jet aircraft to attack the settlement with direct hits recorded on the target.

“The attack has led to the obliteration of the identified buildings and neutralisation of its BHT occupants,” he stated.
