The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) allegedly interrogated the immediate former governor of Abia state, Senator Theodore Orji, over assertions that he unacceptably mishandled about N27billion state fund.
Reports had it that Orji was summoned to the EFCC headquarters in Abuja after successions of petition were written against him.
Amid the accusation levelled against him in the petition was that Orji sidetracked billions of naira expended to Abia state by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) for Small and Medium Innovative.
He was also indicted of averting money from the Ecological Fund account, and money from the Abia state Oil Producing Development Area Commission.
The acting spokesman for the EFCC, Tony Orilade, established Orji’s call to the EFCC office in a text message.
Orilade stated that, “Yes. It is true that we have the former Abia governor with us. “But I cannot say more than that. When it is time to press charges, we shall do that and the story will be in the media.”
Reports also gathered that Senator Nkechi Nwaogu, who represented the Abia Central senatorial district in the upper legislative chamber in-between 2007 and 2014 under the podium of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), said her electorate want her back in 2019.
Nwaogu, who discarded the PDP for the All Progressives Congress (APC), said that her rival, former governor Theodore Orji, who at present represents the district, has failed in performance.
