All Progressives Congress (APC) senator representing Rivers state southeast constituency, Magnus Abe has accused that the minister of transportation and director general of the Buhari’s campaign organization, Rotimi Amaechi, embarrassed him by telling him not to race for election in the presence of his wife.
There are whispers that Abe said Amaechi’s behaviors can afford APC so much in the 2019 general elections. Abe also alleged the minister of organizing a one-man show.
Abe opened, “My grievances with the transportation minister has nothing to do with him supporting me or not. I have told him clearly that he is free to support who he wants. My disagreement with him is that he said I should not run, and I said I would run.
“To come to my house, call me in front of my wife and tell me not to try contesting was the height of it. I said no, I would not accept, I would contest.”
In the interim, report gathered that the chairmen of the Princewill’s Political Associates (PPA) in the 23 local government areas of Rivers had express thanks to Amaechi for supporting the application of their major to fly the flag of the APC in the state.
He concluded by acknowledging that with Tonye Cole as the gubernatorial candidate of the APC, the party was sure of triumph.
They further applauded Amaechi for supposedly hearing the call of those from the riverine part of the state for the emergence of a governorship candidate from their area ahead of the 2019 general election.
