Robert De Niro has rent asunder with his better half, Grace Hightower, after being married for over 20 years.

“Sometimes things don’t work out the way you hope or want them to,” the insider said.
The Wizard of Lies actor, age 75, wedded Hightower, age 63, in 1997 after courting for a period of 10 years. They have two children, son Elliott, 20 and daughter Helen Grace, 6.
They’ve been a separation isue between the two before now. De Niro filed for divorce in 1999 and entered into a keeping argument over their son. The couple in due course levelled things over and the divorce was never concluded.

At the time, the Raging Bull actor jokingly referred to their previous marital problems saying he wanted to “make sure this one sticks.”
The two were last spotted on the red carpet in June at the 72nd Annual Tony Awards in New York City. While De Niro has kept his private life from the limelight he did expressed his weaker side while talking about his family.
“There are great moments and moments of sadness,” he previously opened about raising his children. “Sometimes you’re the last person they want to deal with. It’s like when you walk your kids to school and they get older and they don’t want to hold your hand or kiss you goodbye.”
De Niro also has four other kids from different women, daughter Drena, age 47, and son Raphael, age 42 with ex-wife Diahnne Abbott, as well as 23-year-old twin sons Julian and Aaron, with former girlfriend Toukie Smith.
