Gunmen on Thursday night at exactly 8:46pm attacked mobile Policemen on duty and killed 2 officers as they carted away two Ak-47 rifles. The incident reportedly occurred at the entrance of Obulucks Divine Plaza, opposite God’swill Academy School, Usiefrun road before the railway, Orhuwhorun Town, Delta State.
It was learnt that the two police officers who were shot and left to bleed to death were deployed from MOPOL 41 to guard Jeroh Ochuko and Boro streets, both off Usiefrun road.
An eyewitness who spoke on condition of anonymity said “they were sitting on a bench at the front of the Obulucks Divine Plaza when the perpetrators came with bike packed it before the Obulucks Divine Plaza then used foot to walk towards the mobile police men and opened fire on the officers without questioning, they start to spray bullets at the officers, one fell to the left, and the other fell to the right hand side in front of the Obulucks Divine Plaza and they collected their guns and left with a bike facing Usiefrun town leading to other parts of Ughelli South Local Government Area.”
“The Police officers were stationed to cover Jeroh Ochuko Street and Boro Street.
Another witness who also pleaded anonymity said “police vans have been seen patrolling the area, but no arrests neither harassment by the police have been made to the best of his knowledge.

On visit to scene by 360aproko journalists, the remains of the officers were already evacuated, and the blood and bullet holes were still visible.
The incident has ignited serious tension in the area as many flee the community in fear for what would happen next. Many shops and the ever bustling plaza with commercial activities was now a mirror of a ghost town.
