Nigeria`s President, Muhammadu Buhari has left Abuja for Maiduguri, Borno State capital in order to attend the Chief of Army Staff Annual Conference (CAOS).
The conference was previously arranged to hold between 26th -28th November, 2018 in Benin, Edo state capital.

The adjustment in the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Annual Conference from Benin City to Maiduguri may not be unconnected to the killing of Nigerian soldiers at Metele, a remote village bordering Nigeria and Chad.
While in Maiduguri, Borno state, Mr. president is also due to pay a courtesy visit to the Shehu of Borno, HRH Alhaji Abubakar Ibn Garbai El-kanemi, and visit hospital to empathise with victims of Boko Haram insurgency.
Maiduguri city and its environs have been placed under heavy security , as soldiers, police and other security personnel had been positioned to major roads and other strategic locations in the city for positive one-day official visit of the president to the state.
It was gathered thatTraders’ unions have directed their members to close shops to enable them welcome the president.
President Muhammadu Buhari would use the opportunity of the COAS conference to address the Nigerian soldiers at the battle ground to further enhance their confidence.
