Former Vice-President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, who is also the presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, (PDP), has condemned President Muhammadu Buhari`s refusal to sign Electoral Amendment Bill.
It would be recalled that President Muhammadu Buhari had for the third time withdrawn his assent to the bill. This was revealed by President Buhari’s Senior Special Assistant on National Assembly Matters (Senate), Senator Ita Enang.
Speaking to State House Correspondents at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, Senator Enang refused to state Buhari’s reasons for his action.
Senator Atiku on his Social media, advised Nigerians not to take Mr. President Guarantee of a 2019 democratic election earnestly. The ex-Vice President stated that Mr. Buhari has again missed an opportunity to fulfil his promise to Nigerians.
Alhaji Atiku wrote: “President, assurances that your administration will conduct free, fair and credible elections cannot be taken seriously.
“For Nigerians and especially us in the opposition, you just missed an opportunity to walk the talk.”
