Senator Shehu Sani, legislator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District in the red chamber of the National Legislature, has reacted to the freezing of the bank account of Ex-governor of Anambra state and the Vice Presidential aspirant of the People’s Democratic Party, (PDP), Peter Obi.
It was reported that the People’s Democratic Party’s Presidential Campaign Organization PPCO, cried out over the stoppage of transactions on all accounts belonging to Obi, wife, his family members and their businesses by agencies of the President Muhammadu Buhari government.
In another development, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC), was also said to have stormed the home of the Representatives of the PDP campaign, Mr. Doyin Okupe, on Saturday 8th of December, 2018.
Mr. Okupe made this known on his official social media page.
Sen. Sani noted that the situation played out in 2015 when the government in power used state apparatus to try to subdue the opposition.
Though, the legislator wondered why this continued even under the current government that preaches change.
The Senator stated, “In the run up to 2015 elections, the then government used the apparatus of the state to intimidate members of the then opposition led by PMB.
“It’s sad now that history is repeating itself; the fangs, the claws and the venom of the state is ‘progressively’ unleashed on the opposition.”
