Senator Godswill Akpabio Rants Ahead Of 2019

Former Governor of Akwa Ibom state and Senator representing Akwa Ibom North-West, Godswill Akpabio, on Sunday 9th of December, 2018 said he would ensure the victory of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Akwa Ibom State in 2019.

He said he had no doubt that with the massive support and commitment of party members, victory for the APC was a done deal.

Senator Akpabio said this in his country home Ukana, in Essien Udim Local Government Area, while addressing his followers at the inauguration of his senatorial election campaign.

The Senator said, “Akwa Ibom today is 98% for APC.  It is not about me but God. Because you people are praying to God to save Akwa Ibom from the misrule of the PDP, we shall continue like this until victory is ours in 2019.

“Even the blind man can see already that the APC will win convincingly at the centre, in the state and at the House of Assembly.”

The ex-Senate Minority Leader said people of the state were appreciative of President Muhammadu Buhari’s efforts in infrastructural development and the various appointments the administration had offered people from the state.

The former governor said the only way the state could reciprocate the gesture was to vote massively for the re-election of the President and all candidates of the party.

Senator Akpabio, who is a former governor of the state, berated his successor, Udom Emmanuel, for non-performance.

He also said that he was sad that after almost four years, the governor could not boast of any tangible project he initiated and completed.

Akpabio said he was shocked that Udom, whom he brought from Lagos to become governor despite not being a member of the party, could address a

Akpabio said he was shocked that Udom, whom he brought from Lagos to become governor despite not being a member of the party, could address a press conference to insult him.

Taking a swipe at the governor over what he perceived as his hypocritical campaign slogan tagged, “Only God,” Akpabio said God could not be mocked.

The Senator said, “Only God could have made it possible for someone who was never a party member to become governor. Only God could have made it possible for someone

“Only God could have made someone who could not have stood election on his own even as a councillor and win to be brought from somewhere and be made governor.”

The former governor, however, advised his supporters not to be worried by the governor’s antics but should respond appropriately through the ballot paper by voting against the PDP government.
