The New Nigeria Political Party aspirant for Dass/Tafawa Balewa/Bogoro Federal Constituency, Samaila Idris said he would unseat the current Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Yakubu Dogara, who is currently representing the constituency.
Mr. Idris stated this in a chat with journalist in Bauchi on Tuesday.
Mr. Idris said if elected, he would restore the constituency’s lost glory.
“I want to move the constituency forward by bringing development to the area.
“I want to unite my people, I want to restore the constituency’s lost glory. I want to empower the people and embark on capacity building,” he supposed.
The NNPP Candidate noted that although Dogara has done a lot for the constituency, a new person with fresh ideas is needed to do more.
He further added, “He (Yakubu Dogara) has done so much for the constituency in terms of road construction and empowerment.
“Yes, when you talk about road construction, we have seen construction of new roads in the constituency.
“Development is vast in such a way that what he (Yakubu Dogara) has done is just a unit of that development, the by-product of his own ideology. When you don’t have any other person again replacing him, it means we will continue in that aspect of infrastructural development without touching other sides.
“So, we need someone with fresh ideas to try his own development, to put in a different variety of development.”
