An Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court, on Wednesday, ordered the remanding of a 17-year-old pupil, Kehinde Timilehin, who allegedly hacked his schoolmate to death with an axe.
Mr Adesoji Adegboye, The Chief Magistrate, ordered that the accused be remanded at the State Children Correctional Centre pending advice from the state Director of Public Prosecutions.
Adegboye subsequently adjourned the matter till January 18, 2019.
Timilehin, a pupil of Ado Grammar School, Ado-Ekiti, is facing trial for allegedly stabbing his schoolmate, Favour Matthew, on the chest on Thursday, December 6, 2018, after school hours.
But the charm disappointed Mathew as the weapon with which Timilehin allegedly attacked him penetrated his body and he reportedly gave up the ghost at the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital, Ado-Ekiti. The suspect was apprehended and detained at the Ekiti State Criminal Investigation Department on the day of the incident.
