The suspended Chief Justice of Nigeria, Onnoghen sues government

Chief Justice of Nigeria, Walter Onnoghen who is currently suspended has filed a lawsuit against the federal government over his suspension. The suit was filed by his lawyers, Wole Olanipekun, Adegboyega Awomolo, Kanu Agabi and James Onoja recently.

If you may recall CJN Onnoghen was suspended by the Federal Government last Friday January 25th 2019 on the order of the Code of Conduct Tribunal, CCT. Walter who assumed office as the 17th CJN in March 2017, has been accused of not declaring all his assets two years after coming into office as the CJN.

The new and acting CJN, Ibrahim Mohammed was appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari. Buhari’s suspension of Onnoghen had been making serious negative views across the nation and beyond with many condemning Mr. Presidents decision.
