There are different types of exploits and anyone can carry them out but supernatural exploits in life is not for everybody; it is only reserved for those empowered by the Holy Ghost. The Cambridge Dictionary defines exploits as, “something unusual, brave, or funny that someone has done.”
According to Dr. Oyedepo, “Exploits simply means an extraordinary, record breaking and record-setting accomplishment. It is accomplishing things as 1 Corinthians 2:9 says, “However, as it is written: “What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived” the things God has prepared for those who love Him.”
Exploits in this context means to set the pace, blaze the trail, achieve outstanding feats and bring to bear unimaginable accomplishments on earth. Jesus lived for 30years without much impact. However, in Luke 4:14 scripture says, “Jesus returned to Galilee in the power of the Spirit, and news about Him spread through the whole countryside.”
These are not mighty words which are accessible from the schools of psychology and philosophy, but the Spirit of wisdom is the Spirit of mighty works. Speaking of Jesus, the Bible says: And when He was come into His own country, He taught them in their synagogue, insomuch that they were astonished, and said, Whence hath this man this wisdom, and these mighty works? (Matthew 13:54; see also Isaiah 11:1-2; Luke 4:18-19).
Luke 4:18-19 New International Version (NIV) says: “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because He has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.” And when the sabbath day was come, He began to teach in the synagogue: and many hearing Him were astonished, saying, From whence hath this man these things? And what wisdom is this which is given unto Him, that even such mighty works are wrought by His hands? Mark 6:2.
The Apostles were like ordinary men until the anointing of the Holy Spirit, Acts 2:1-41. In John 14:12, Jesus says, “Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in Me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I Am going to the Father.”
In the time of the Apostles, Peter’s shadow healed the sick. In Acts 5:15-16, we read, “People brought the sick into the streets and laid them on beds and mats so that at least Peter’s shadow might fall on some of them as he passed by. Crowds gathered also from the towns around Jerusalem, bringing their sick and those tormented by evil spirits, and all of them were healed.”
There is need to be empowered by the Holy Ghost to make exploits. May God help us in Jesus Name…
