One of my favorite WEIGHT LOSS SNACKS (low calories, crunchy carbs & NO veggies)
==
When trying to lose weight, sometimes you just want to snack on something crunchy, that satisfies your hunger… but it won’t blow your diet.
Especially later in the evening when you’re watching a movie or your favorite TV show.
Of course, eating chips and similar snacks sounds good – but there are no healthy or low-calorie chips. I don’t care if it’s made with the best ingredients, they all have a lot of calories since they contain high amounts of BOTH carbs and fats.
And that’s the worst combination – high carbs, sugars and fats. It also happens to be the most addictive.
Now, I could tell you to snack on carrots or celery sticks… but, that’s just boring.
How would you like to snack on a carbohydrate, that has
No fat
It’s crunchy
Takes only a couple of minutes to prep (no cutting, cleaning, etc.)
Low cost
High in fiber. In fact, one of the worlds’ best source of fiber.
Low glycemic index, which means good for your blood sugar
And most importantly, is fun to eat?
Can you guess?
Want me to give you a couple seconds to post it below in the comments section?…
While you’re thinking, let me give you a few hints… One cup of it has
Only 30 calories
Almost no fat (0.3g)
1 gram of protein
Only 6 grams of carbs
Almost 2 grams of fiber
No cholesterol
No Sodium
Contains a good amount of magnesium, B vitamins, potassium, zinc, copper and manganese
Okay, here it goes – it’s air popped popcorn.
And it’s super easy to make. And will only cost you about a dime, 10 cents for a 2 cup serving
How To Cook It
You can put it in a plastic microwavable container like I do – this is the one I have and I’ve listed the link to Amazon to this below in the description area. It’s about $15 and I’ve been using this for years.
You can even just put it in a paper lunch bag and fold the top and put it in the microwave.
I use Orville Redenbaher, Non-GMO version. It’s a big 8lb container and it’s just about $11 and will last you a very long time. I’ve put the link to this below in the description area.
You can get whatever kind of popcorn you want
Before I put it in the microwave, I put some sea salt and pepper on top. I may even do a quick spray of Olive Oil as well.
Then put it on the “popcorn” setting in the microwave and that’s it.
Remember a few things:
NO butter or oil, it’s air popped popcorn. This is what makes it a great, weight loss snack.
This is NOT movie popcorn or other popcorn that’s pre-packaged and has a ton of calories from sugar and fat.
You can make this anytime, at home or even prepare in advance and take on trips or to work or for your kids or whatever you can think of.
I’ve got more weight loss articles, videos and tips below, in the description area.
And let me know what are some of your favorite, low calorie, healthy snacks.
