The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission has warned the general public, including all government ministries, agencies, embassies and high commission to be wary of an illegal diaspora groups parading as authentic group.
NIDCOM gave this warning in a statement by its Director of Media, Public Relations and Protocols Unit, Abdur-Rahman Balogun on Tuesday via X, formerly Twitter handle.
It particularly mentioned a group identified as Nigeria Diaspora Forum, who claimed it has established an office in Abuja for the welfare of Nigerians in the Diaspora.
While noting that the group has clear evil and political ulterior intentions, strutting as bona fide diaspora group, NIDCOM admonished all government Ministries , Agencies, Embassies and High Commissions as well as Diaspora groups to beware of NDF.
The statement said that NIDCOM is the only Commission authorized by an act of the Parliament to monitor the welfare of Nigerians in the diaspora, in the last four years.
