ABUJA – The serving overseer of the Citadel Global Community Church, Pastor Tunde Bakare has lambasted the establishment of ineffective anti-corruption committees by corrupt officials, deeming it “a waste of time.”
Speaking at a men’s symposium organized to celebrate the 70th Birthday of Pastor Chinedu Ezekwesili in Abuja over the weekend, he stressed the importance of integrity in overcoming societal issues.
Bakare emphasized the need for spiritual growth to combat moral decay and urged a return to God’s design to heal societal strife.
He highlighted the lack of genuine leadership as the root cause of problems like family conflicts and national crises.
He stated, “There are many theories about how to end corruption in Nigeria. EFCC cannot do it, ICPC cannot fix it.
“The antidote to corruption is only one thing: the manifestation of the sons of God under righteous authority.
“Setting up committees to investigate corruption by corrupt individuals who cannot execute it is a waste of time.”
Despite the challenges, Bakare offered a hopeful outlook, suggesting that adherence to divine principles could lead to positive change.
Pastor Chinedu Ezekwesili shared his life experiences, emphasizing faith and the power of divine grace.
He stressed the horrors of war and expressed gratitude for his miraculous survival, attributing it to God’s mercy.
Ezekwesili also discussed his gospel ministry origins and the impact of his faith on his life.
The symposium underlined the critical role of principled men in societal reform and the collective effort required to address Nigeria’s issues, highlighting that progress depends on unity and divine guidance.
