The National Population Commission, NPC has reiterated its commitment to deliver credible and enviable census to Nigeria.

The Federal commissioner representing Enugu State, Hon Ejike Ezeh made this known at his office in Enugu on Wednesday amids jubilating staff who staged a brief ceremony to welcome and congratulate him for his reappointment as federal commissioner.

Excited Hon. Ezeh, who resumed duty today after his reappointment, disclosed that the commission is waiting for President Ahmed Bola Tinubu’s order to commence the census exercise, adding that they would stop at nothing to ensure a credible and acceptable census.

He thanked President Tinubu for finding him worthy to be reappointed and as well commended the staff for their demonstration of love and oneness.

He assured the management of his readiness to continue working together with them, adding that they would get whatever that’s due for them at the appropriate time.

“The task now is that we have been reappointed by the President, we are looking forward to giving the country a credible and viable census. That is the most important task now for NPC.

“My assurance is that we will continue to work together and anything due for anybody will get to them. I will try to correct whenever I make mistakes and try to make sure we continue our normal routine programmes. We will continue to consult with the old people in the job to make the coming census exercise a very credible census, hoping that very soon, the President will call us for the exercise,” he said.

Speaking earlier on behalf of the management, the Head of Technical, Mr Kingsley Okereke commended Hon Ezeh for his reappointment, adding that they expected it due to his good leadership example.

Okereke assured him of management unalloyed support and working relationship to ensure they achieve the mandate of National Population Commission.

“You are a good example of a leader. You are the only commissioner that never seized anybody’s allowance. We want to say a big congratulations to your reappointment. If we say, we are not expecting it, we are lying because your good leadership record will see you through,” he said.
