Keanu Reeves is off to the races!
The John Wick actor, 60, made his professional racing debut on Saturday, Oct. 5, at the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway, the Associated Press reported. Reeves qualified 31st out of 35 cars for the Toyota GR Cup, a series which takes place alongside the Indy 8 Hour event.
At one point, Reeves’ car spun out by turn 9 (without causing a collision) at the start of the 45-minute race’s second half. Uninjured, the Speed star was able to reenter the race and continue, ultimately finishing 25th.
Reeves, who ranked as high as the 21st car at one point in the race, is set to compete again on Sunday, Oct. 6.
He drove a red No. 92 BRZRKR car, which references his graphic novel The Book of Elsewhere, which was published in July.

This wasn’t the first time Reeves got behind the wheel for an auto-racing competition. In 2009, he participated — and won — the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach’s celebrity race, AP reported.
The actor is apparently a big fan of racing. In July, he and his girlfriend Alexandra Grantattended the final day of the MotoGP Liqui Moly Motorrad Grand Prix Deutschland in Germany.
He also attended the Formula 1 British Grand Prix qualifying race in July 2022. “It was wet, but it was thrilling,” he said about the event at the time, per Express.
“It was absolutely amazing to be that close. Silverstone and rain, perfect,” he added. “I think being that close to it, just seeing the speed and the way that they’re going at the turns and exiting the turns is something unbelievable.”

The Matrix actor also hosted and produced Brawn: The Impossible Formula 1 Story, a four-part documentary about the 2009 Formula 1 World Championship, which is available to stream on Hulu and Disney+.
