The Bravolebrity said on the Dec. 12 episode of ‘Southern Charm’ that the firefighter received the news around the time of their first wedding anniversary

Madison LeCroy’s first wedding anniversary with Brett Randle didn’t come with the fanfare she hoped.

The hairdresser, 34, revealed on the Dec. 12 episode of Southern Charm that Brett, 38, was diagnosed with thyroid cancer at the end of 2023, approximately one year after they tied the knot. “I thought, like, how? Like, I’m finally happy,” Madison said in a confessional interview. “It’s just scary.”

Madison said that Brett had a 3-cm. nodule removed, which got rid of the cancer, but he continued having complications. “I feel like we can’t catch a f—king break,” Madison said in an on-camera interview.

After Brett sneezed while making pancakes with her son Hudson, Madison asks him, “How are you feeling?”

“Pretty good,” Brett responded.

Madison proceeded to ask Brett specifically how it felt when he swallowed.

“I have to go see a specialist for it,” he said, explaining, “It’s like two stages. I don’t know, so I got to go see an ENT for it and then probably have to do some type of therapy.”

The firefighter described it as feeling “like a marble’s like stuck there” in his throat. “It’s alright. I’m getting used to it,” he added.

Madison said she only gave Hudson, 11, a high-level view of Brett’s health situation. “I didn’t go into detail about what cancer can do to someone,” she said. “And I try not to let Hudson see me emotional because like, I have to be strong for my family.”

Last season, Madison spoke about wanting to start trying to conceive a baby with Brett. But in the Dec. 12 episode, Madison said that having a child “is on pause” for now due to Brett’s cancer diagnosis. “Some days I just want to like scream,” she admitted in a confessional.

Later in the episode, Jarrett “JT” Thomas alleged to Craig Conover and Shep Rose during a game of virtual golf at CHS Golf that Brett thought he and Madison slept together in Jamaica.

“I remember that Madison FaceTimed me when she was in the Dominican Republic and I was like, why is she FaceTiming me?” JT, 38, said to Craig, 35, and Shep, 45. “Do you remember in Jamaica when she put on my blue stripes? I think it made Brett get a little weird when that all went around.”

Craig didn’t see it that way. “I don’t think he’s worried about you though,” the Sewing Down South founder said.

JT, who resigned from the show last month, felt differently. “Then why Facetime me with your wife to ask if we hooked up in Jamaica?” he said.

Craig considered JT’s suspicion to be a conspiracy theory. “I’m a sucker for a good conspiracy theory,” the Pillow Talk author said in a confessional interview. “I don’t even like to use the word conspiracy theory, I think it’s derogatory to all of those who know the truth out there. But man, JT is, he tops me.”

Shep sided with Craig. “The way that the gears turn in JT’s head I’m not sure I want to know about,” he told the cameras.

Craig really dug into JT, though, when the real estate developer claimed he heard from Leva Bonaparte that Austen Kroll “had a relationship with another girl for a few months” while also dating girlfriend Audrey Pratt.

“I don’t care about Leva because Austen and Audrey are great,” Craig said.

JT thought Craig and Shep refused to hold Austen, 37, accountable.

“JT, do you want to be friends with us?” Craig asked. “Because that means you got to stop picking fights with Austen and making up lies about his girlfriend.”

JT tried to defend himself by claiming, “I’m just saying what Rodrigo and her talked about.”

“If you bring it up again, you won’t see me again,” Craig warned.

JT stood by what he’d heard. “Craig, I’m telling you, I’m sticking with the truth,” he said.

With that, Craig decided to leave the golf venue.

“I can’t hang out with people that are against my friend Austen,” Craig said. “Shep, I love you buddy, but this isn’t healthy for me. This is bananas!”

Shep told JT that “words matter” and he should halt his line of accusations.

“You’ve gone right back into the weeds man,” Shep said to JT. “Just stop.”
