Christina Haack and Heather Rae El Moussaaren’t afraid to team up against Tarek El Moussa.
During an appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show on Tuesday, Jan. 28, the trio discussed their dynamic in their upcoming show The Flip Off, which sees married couple Tarek and Heather take on his ex wife, Haack, in a house flipping competition.
“We pick on [Tarek] a lot,” Heather shared. And Tarek agreed, “Yeah they do, which is weird.”
When host Jennifer Hudson asked Tarek how he managed working with both women, the HGTV star, 43, admitted that he wasn’t sure how he did.
“… The second all three of us get together, [Haack will] start picking on me, and I’m thinking Heather’s going to jump in and defend me. Next thing I know they’re standing together picking on me,” he said.
Haack chimed in “He likes it.”
Heather explained that she and Haack “don’t fight,” so they “pick on” Tarek together “because he’s an easy target.”
When describing the competitive banter among the trio, the Christina on the Coast star deemed it “friendly competition” or “friendly fighting.”

Hudson then asked the trio about how they managed “coparenting” and “doing the show together.”
“The point is it’s better for the kids when everyone’s getting along, and we genuinely are. And we’re genuinely having so much fun doing this show,” Haack said. Tarek shares daughter Taylor, 14, and son Brayden, 9, with Haack and son Tristan, 1, with Heather.
“I feel like the kids love it that we’re doing a show together, and they can see their parents all working together,” Heather added. “They love it. They’re very supportive.”

Elsewhere in the episode, Haack got candid about competing in the series solo following her split from her third husband Josh Hall, who was originally meant to be her teammate. Hall filed for divorce from Haack on July 15, 2024 after nearly three years of marriage, citing “irreconcilable differences.”
“It’s so much easier without somebody else bothering me,” Haack said. “I mean, I don’t have to ask approval from anyone, no one’s weighing me down.”

Hudson then asked her, “So you don’t feel any disadvantages at all?” Haack replied with a big smile, “No, I think I have an advantage.”
Haack has since moved on with new boyfriend Christopher Larocca PEOPLE confirmed on Jan. 11. PEOPLE also exclusively revealed that Hall had since moved on with model Stephanie Gabrys earlier this month.
