Joy Behar had a lot of reasons to celebrate on Thursday, Feb. 6.
The television personality was all smiles as she took her bow on opening night of the world premiere production of the hilarious play, My First Ex-Husband, at the MMAC Theater, Off-Broadway in New York City.
Supporting Behar at the opening was a slew of her past and present co-hosts from The View, including Alyssa Farah Griffin, Sunny Hostin, Sherri Shepherd, Ana Navarro, Star Jones and Sara Haines. All posed with Behar on the red carpet.
Missing from the current crop of co-hosts was Whoopi Goldberg, through the EGOT winner did wish Behar the best on Thursday’s episode of The View, sending congratulations to her pal for opening night. Behar, 82, has been absent from the long-running ABC daytime show this week, as she prepped for the play’s premiere.
Other stars in attendance on opening night was veteran news anchor Diane Sawyer, actor Louis Cancelmi (The Penguin), ballet legend Mikhail Baryshnikov and a slew of View staffers, including executive producer and Behind the Table podcasthost Brian Teta.
Penned by Behar, My First Ex-Husband — per its official description — tells a series of original stories about the “messy truths of love, marriage, and divorce, revealing the chaotic, funny, and often eye-opening realities of relationships.” As relatable as it is outrageous, the 80-minute comedy offers “something for anyone who’s ever tied the knot, or thought about untying it.”
“I do, now I’m done!” a tagline for the play reads.

Four time Tony Award nominee Tovah Feldshuh, Orange Is the New Black breakout Adrienne C. Moore, and Behar’s longtime best friend Susie Essman (Curb Your Enthusiasm) are starring in the play, alongside Behar.
Each month, a rotating lineup of luminaries from theater, television and film will lead the production, offer fresh perspectives to Behar’s stories. The current foursome will remain with the show through Sunday, Feb. 23,

After their run, stage veteran Jackie Hoffman (Hairspray, Xanadu), film star Gina Gershon, Tony nominee Veanne Cox, and Jane the Virgin alumna Andrea Navedo will lead the show, from March 26 through April 20.
