The Kansas City Chiefs are trying for a three-peat on Sunday, Feb. 9, and facing off against the Philadelphia Eagles, once again, in Super Bowl LIX.

The action in New Orleans has been going on all week, but kick-off for the actual game at the Caesars Superdome is at 6:30 p.m. EST. Things will begin with performances of the national anthem by Jon Batiste; “America the Beautiful” byTrombone Shorty and singer Lauren Daigle; and  “Lift Every Voice and Sing” by Ledisi.

Of course, Taylor Swift is expected at the game to cheer on boyfriend Travis Kelce and the Chiefs, alongside her pal Brittany Mahomes, whose husband Patrick Mahomes is the team’s star quarterback. For Philadelphia, stand-out players include beloved quarterback Jalen Hurts and running back (and Sunday birthday boy!) Saquon Barkley.

At halftime, Kendrick Lamar promises an electrifying performance of his award-winning hits, alongside special guest SZA.

And between all the action, there’s the can’t-miss commericals — PEOPLE is tracking those live, as well.

Follow along here for all the action and live updates on the game, performers, ads, celebrity attendees and more during the 2025 Super Bowl.

This Is Only the 43rd Year the National Anthem Will Be Performed at a Super Bowl Game

Though the first Super Bowl was held back in 1967, the tradition of “The Star-Spangled Banner” being sung before game kick-off didn’t begin until over a decade later.

The first person to do so at a Super Bowl? Diana Ross in 1982, singing a capella for the crowd at the since-closed Silverdome Stadium in Detroit.

This year, the national anthem is being performed by Jon Baptiste.

Will the Kansas City Chiefs Make History?

The Kansas City Chiefs were the victors in the last two Super Bowls. The team defeated the Philadelphia Eagles in 2023, and, in 2024, the San Francisco 49ers.

If the team wins again this year, it’ll be history-making: they’ll be the first team in NFL history to “three-peat.” The Chiefs will also set a five Super Bowl championship record with a win.
