Hollywood star Winona Ryder won a legion of new fans as Joyce Myers in Netflix sci-fi series Stranger Things – but some are confused by a new photo
Fans of Stranger Things have been left blown away by a throwback photo of actress Winona Ryder
Bosses behind the Netflix hit sci-fi drama shared a collection of test shots from before filming on the first season from their Twitteraccount Stranger Writers.null
The Duffer Brothers, who created the show, captioned the images: “We got some more camera test shots for you :).”
The actors shown off in the photos are Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Natalia Dyer, and Noah Schnapp.
All of the stars look younger than they appeared in the most recent third season of the show, but fans of the 1980s era adventure noted that Winona Ryder looked the most different to her character.
Unlike the thick and wavy brunette style of concerned mum Joyce Byers in the show, Winona appears with a slicked back, shorter and darker look here, with Ryder wearing black for the test shot.
Taking to the replies section of the post, viewers were quick to show their surprise at Winona’s transformation.
One wrote on Twitter: “joyce looks so different in this wow”.
A different viewer commented: “winona ryder is the love of my life”.
Meanwhile, another thought Winona looked rather downcast in the image, tweeting: “winona straight up looks like she does not want to be there”.
“Winona??? MAYBE I AM SCREAMING,” wrote one happy and surprised fan.
One very happy fan commented: “JOYCE!!!! LOOK AT MY BABY!!! WINONA IS ADORABLE JDJDKFK!!! CONTENT”.
A different adoring Winona lover wrote: “Winona Ryder is the prettiest woman on earth, I said what I said.”
Finally, one adoring fan concluded by asking: “why is winona the most gorgeous woman in the universe?”
If we knew her secret, we would want in!
The fourth run of Stranger Things was due to be released on Netflix later this year but filming on the series was halted due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Thus we will have to wait a bit longer before Jim Hopper (David Harbour) makes his apparent return from the dead.
