Alfie Templeman – Happiness In Liquid Form. An exclusive at-home performance for Vevo DSCVR, the channel for the best in new music.
Need a little jolt? UK indie rocker Alfie Templeman can help. The 17-year-old’s early releases boasted taste-bud titles like “Orange Juice,” “Pink Lemonade,” and “Sunday Morning Cereal.” After impressing new fans and industry folks alike, he took his energetic act to bigger venues, even opening for fellow Vevo DSCVR alum, Sports Team. Each new Alfie T project sounds like the multi-instrumentalist spent his down time investigating a handful of previously unexplored genres. 2019’s “Don’t Go Wasting Time” used aughts-style indie-pop production – shakers, synths, etc. His recent EP, the bright pink ‘Happiness In Liquid Form,’ extends that palette by incorporating funk and disco elements. Its “Obvious Guy” was named ‘Hottest Record in the World’ by BBC1’s Future Sounds. Locked down and bored, Alfie picked up his guitar, played some jazz chords, and crooned his heart out for DSCVR at Home. These performances of the EP’s title track and “Maybe This Is Time” are gentle, graceful, and compelling.
