The UK is set to experience another rainy day on Sunday, with a yellow warning and more than 60 flood alerts in place.

Brits have been warned that “fast-flowing” floods from Storm Alex’s 900 mile-wide ‘weather bomb’ could cut off towns and threaten lives, so extra care is needed.

The Met Office warned of ‘up to seven inches’ rain in the South West, four inches in the South East and two inches in the North.

Met Office forecaster Marco Petagna said: “Conditions are awful. Low pressure areas are feeding from Storm Alex.

“There’s little change into the week ahead with spells of wet and windy weather and a cool airstream.”

The Atlantic torment strengthened to a ‘weather bomb’ with over a month’s rain this weekend as five inches’ rain triggers floods and travel chaos.
