Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil has offered to pay for Gunnersaurus to be reinstated as mascot after he was made redundant as part of a Covid-19 cost-cutting exercise.

A fundraising page was set up for life-long Arsenal fan Jerry, but now Ozil has stepped in with a promise to pay Gunnersaurus’ wages for as long as he remains at the club.
On Instagram, Ozil wrote: “I was so sad that Jerry Quy aka our famous and loyal mascot Gunnersaurus and integral part of our club was being made redundant after 27 years.
