When Lois Riess’s addiction began to spiral out of control, the supposedly happily married grandmother, 56, stopped at nothing to feed her habit – even murder…

On 23 March, 2018, a man was found dead under a blanket at the home he shared with his wife in Blooming Prairie, Minnesota.

David Riess, 54, had been shot dead with a 22-calibre gun and his body was hidden in the bathroom.

David had been missing for more than two weeks. His wife Lois had told David’s colleagues that he was busy preparing for a fishing trip and, after that, revealed he was feeling unwell.

After 16 days, his colleagues grew so concerned that they called the police. Officers found David’s body but there was no sign of Lois. Had she suffered the same fate as her husband?

David had been serving in the US Navy when he’d first met Lois. They’d married and had three children together, a son and two daughters.
