COVID-19: Mike Masamvu Dies At 62, Leaves 12 Wives, 79 Children Behind

A former lawmaker for the ruling party in Zimbabwe, ZANU PF, Hon. Luke Phibion Masamvu has died yesterday, January 31 in Zimbabwe’s capital town of Harare.

The former parliamentarian, who was a well-known businessman in Manicaland province was just 63 and left behind a total of 12 wives and 79 children.

Hon. Luke Masamvu’s close friend, Mr Misheck Mugadza, said: “We have lost an accomplished businessman, a family man and personal mentor.”

He lost his parliamentary seat after falling by the wayside during the 2018 ZANU PF primary elections.

Zimbabwe : FORMER ZANU PF legislator Luke Phibion Masamvu died yesterday in Harare from Covid-19-related complications.

He was 62 , he left behind 12 wives and 79 children.

Nine of his children obtained degrees at different universities. In 2020 a total of 10 were at universities. In the same year, four of his children were doing both O’ and A’ Level, Form Threes (5), Form Twos (six), Form Ones (5) while 25 of them were at primary level.

One of his children, Mike Masamvu was one of the best O’Level students in Zimbabwe. He scored 19As and a B in the 2019 November Zimsec examinations.

Mike’s other siblings Kenneth wrote 15 subjects and obtained 9 As and six Bs, while the other one, Kelvin, wrote 10 and passed six subjects.
