Federico Fernandez scored a late winner as Newcastle United defeated Southampton 2-1 at St. James’ Park in the Premier League.
Danny Ings opened the scoring for the visitors early in the second-half before Jonjo Shelvey equalised with his third goal in as many games. Fernandez then popped up with an 87th minute winner after Sean Longstaff’s initial effort had been parried by Alex McCarthy.
