A 21-year-old Texas woman is accused of stabbing her mother to death and faces a murder charge.
Rachel Zamarripa was arrested on Saturday, Aug. 31, online jail records indicate. KSAT, KTSA and News 4 San Antonio reported that she is accused of killing her mother, Linda Zamarripa, 58, according to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office.
Jail records indicate that Rachel is charged with first-degree murder, though it is not immediately clear if she has entered a plea or retained an attorney.
KSAT reported that Rachel was acting as her mother’s caregiver before her death, citing the sheriff’s office.
The outlet reported that deputies alleged the suspect called 911 to report that she had stabbed a family member.
Linda suffered a stab wound to the chest and was pronounced dead at the scene after being found by deputies, reported News 4.
News 4 reported that three other adults were home at the time of the alleged stabbing, citing deputies.
