Andy Reid thinks Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes will tell him to “stick to” his iconic mustache when they see his new Super Bowl ad for Pringles.
Reid, 66, makes an appearance in the new spot for Pringles (a snack the Chiefs head coach says he’s “always loved”), and to celebrate his return to the Super Bowl (where he could become the first NFL coach to win three titles in a row!) the brand put up 78 billboards around Kansas City showcasing Reid’s mustache-less face.
But the Kansas City coach says he doesn’t think his tight end or quarterback will love his new look.
Reid tells PEOPLE he’s “not sure” if Kelce, 35, and Mahomes, 29, have seen the billboards yet, “but I’m sure they’ll tell me to stick with the ‘stache once they do,” he jokes.
In fact, Kelce seems to be such a big fan of Reid’s iconic look that he said he’s paid homage to it with his own. “I grow out the stache every training camp — or at least I have the past three or four years since we’ve been making these title runs, in honor of coach Andy Reid,” Kelce told us in October.
And while Reid loses his mustache in the Pringles ad — which also stars NBA All-Star James Harden and actors Adam Brody and Nick Offerman — he says it stayed on in real life. “The team had some pretty convincing movie-magic to make my mustache fly away so luckily, I could keep it.”
Reid and his Chiefs are “squarely focused” on Sunday’s Super Bowl against the Philadelphia Eagles, he says, but the head coach is looking forward to finding “some time to relax” after the season ends.
Alongside Kelce and Mahomes, Reid is hoping to make Kansas City the first to an NFL three-peat. He tells PEOPLE that the NFL stars are “both such integral parts of the team” and “a lot of the younger players look up to them for obvious reasons.”

“They’re great at helping the young guys navigate these big moments and big stages, making everyone stays focused on the task at hand,” Reid says of the quarterback and tight end.
Speaking of Kelce specifically, Reid says he’s “a great presence for” the Chiefs and he enjoyed Kelce’s fun celebration after they won the AFC Championship on Jan. 26 — which made Kelce’s girlfriend Taylor Swift laugh from the field.
“He’s definitely a better football player than singer, but that’s just Travis,” says Reid. “He loves to keep it lively and fun, especially in those moments.”
The 2025 Super Bowl kicks off at 6:30 p.m. ET on Sunday.
