An auto dealership worker was among those who helped pull four children from an icy lake in Massachusetts.
According to CBS News, first responders said the kids fell in after school while walking on Lee’s Pond in Attleboro on Monday, Feb. 24. The others fell in after trying to help the first who had fallen through the ice.
Speaking to the outlet, Max Castro, of the Blasius of Attleboro Dealership, recalled how he was mid-sale when he became aware of the situation.
“I just screamed to one my coworkers, ‘call 911,’ and then we run over there to look,” Castro told CBS News. “Me and my clients. And forget about the sale, I don’t care about the sale, I said, ‘save the kids that’s it.’ “

With the help of his clients and some snow brooms, Castro was able to help bring the children to safety.
Urging locals to “be careful of the weather,” Castro told the outlet, “Don’t walk on the ice, don’t walk in the edge of any lake, avoid those situations because you can be in trouble.”
Father Alex Heng, whose son fell in the lake, told WJAR, “[My son’s] friend fell first, the guy screamed ‘help.’ He and his other friend went to help, and the other friend fell in. And Brandon was trying to help them and fell in as well.”
“I received a call about almost three o’clock from his cellphone and then the fireman spoke to me and he said ‘your son,’ and I started to panic you know,” Heng added to CNS News. “I’m feeling great because God was up there, looking over them all.”
Heng also warned other parents, adding, “To the parents out there, be very, very careful right now because the temperatures is starting to warm up and the ice is getting thinner and it’s start melting.”
