Baylen Dupree is saying “hell no” to a potential treatment for her Tourette syndrome.

In PEOPLE’s exclusive look at the Monday, March 3 episode of Baylen Out Loud, the influencer, 22, is at a doctor’s appointment with her parents, Julie and Allen Dupree, to discuss whether she should get deep brain stimulation to treat her tics.

Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) is an FDA-approved procedure, a two-part surgery that involves implanting a device that sends electrical signals to the brain to help control motor systems.

In the clip, Baylen’s mother Julie shares her excitement for how much of an impact the surgery could have on Baylen’s life.

“I know the procedure is really invasive in a lot of ways, but how astounding is it that Baylen’s tics could get cut 50%?” she says. “That’s life-changing.”

The expert starts to explain and demonstrate the process of the surgery with the device in hand.

“They would shave your head, you’d be in a frame literally bolted to your skull to keep your head stable,” the doctor says. “And then they make an incision, they pull the skin back, they drill a hole and then they stick it down in your brain.”

As the woman continues explaining the second part of the surgery to the family, Baylen’s tics become more frequent.

“They’d go back in a second surgery, they put this in and tunnel it down and then this gets implanted where you would put a pacemaker battery,” the expert adds.

“Oh hell no,” Baylen says of the surgery in a confessional.
