The Dairy Milk Crunchy Honeycomb bar features milk chocolate with golden crunchy honeycomb pieces, caramel flavoured fudge and chopped hazelnuts – and it’s coming to a supermarket near you soon

Cadbury is launching a new chocolate bar in the UK after trialling three new flavours, including a quirky coconut Dairy Milk, back in July.

The chocolate manufacturer said its Crunchy Honeycomb edition will return to shelves in January, after winning a competition with the public.

However, the bar, which features milk chocolate with golden crunchy honeycomb pieces, caramel flavoured fudge and chopped hazelnuts, will be renamed to Cadbury Dairy Milk Honeycomb and Nuts, instead.

Back in July, Cadbury released three new bars – coconut, blueberry and honeycomb – and said just one would become permanently available.

It gave fans a month to vote for their favourite, which would then stay on supermarket shelves indefinitely.

The Crunchy Honeycomb Dairy Milk was created by 19-year-old student Shannon from Nottingham, as part of the company’s Cadbury Inventor competition.

The bar is said to have an “extra sweet” flavour thanks to the caramel fudge.

The bar cost £1 back in July – and is expected to continue at this price when it returns to the public.

It will return to supermarkets across the UK and Ireland, sitting alongside Cadbury-fan favourites such as Caramel, Fruit & Nut and Whole Nut, from January next year.

Beatrice Berutti, tablets brand manager at Cadbury, said: “We’re absolutely thrilled to reveal Shannon as the winner of our second Cadbury Inventor Competition.

We love experimenting with different flavours, especially when we can bring our fans into the process of inventing new and wonderful creations.

“Cadbury Dairy Milk Honeycomb & Nuts mixes classic ingredients in a unique and mouth-watering way, which is just one of the reasons why it has captivated the nation – including presenter Laura Whitmore.”

Local Nottingham Inventor Shannon travelled to the Cadbury Kitchen in Bournville, the home of Cadbury, where she worked with chocolate experts to experiment with over 90,000 possible combinations.

Since then Shannon has seen her bar hit supermarket shelves nationwide before being crowned the nation’s favourite.

The Cadbury Dairy Milk Honeycomb and Nuts is still available in supermarkets nationwide whilst stocks last but if you miss buying a bar, it will return in January 2021.

Last year saw Dairy Milk Choca-Latte turned into a regular Cadbury product when it won the annual competition.

Dairy Milk Coconutty features milk chocolate with coconut crumble, studded with white chocolate crisp pearls.
