Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Xavier Worthy gave his mom, Nicky Jones, the best birthday present!

Jones was at Arrowhead Stadium proudly cheering on her son, 21, and his team, the Kansas City Chiefs, as they took on the New Orleans Saints on Monday, Oct. 7.

Since it was Jones’ birthday, Worthy eagerly presented his mom with the game ball after he scored a three-yard rushing touchdownduring the fourth quarter, ultimately helping the Chiefs secure a 26-13 victory. It was the team’s fifth win in a row to start the season.

Immediately after taking the handoff from tight end Travis Kelce, the wide receiver rushed to the endzone, ran to his mom in the stands and threw her the ball before the two shared a sweet hug.

The Chiefs shared a clip of the moment on X, writing, “Celebrating mom’s birthday with a touchdown 🫶.”

“Xavier Worthy says his mom Nicky is his best friend,” Monday Night Football sideline reporter Lisa Salters explained. “He says that she had him when she was 18; so she’s like really his sister. He said, ‘Our relationship is really close. She’s meant the world to me. She’s just been there for me every step of the way. We have that special bond. Talk all the time.’ “

This is the wide receiver’s first season after being drafted in April, following a record-breaking 40-yard dash in just 4.21 seconds at the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine.

The former Texas Longhorns player even got the support from Kelce’s girlfriend, Taylor Swift, who liked an Instagram video of the NFL rookie being drafted.

Jones has shown her support for her son on X, where she posts during Worthy’s games. In a January 2024 tweet, she wrote that being his mother is “one of my greatest joys in life.”

“Thank you for representing yourself, family, & city the way you did these past 3 yrs. No off the field issues. Played every game, even when injured,” Jones wrote. “Persevered thru bad times & stayed humble during good times. Being your mom is one of my greatest joys in life! So thankful!”

Worthy and the Chiefs have a bye week coming up, before they play against the San Francisco 49ers on Oct. 20.
