Tragedy occured on Sunday morning, as a two-storey building in Papa Ajao, Ladipo, Mushin area of the state suddenly collapsed, trapping several occupants, including children women and others.

The incident had thrown the entire area into chaos as sympathisers and emergency responders embarked on rescue mission of trapped victims.

Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Emergency Management Authourity, LASEMA, Dr. Femí Oke-Osanyitolu, who is presently at the scene of the collapse, said evacuation of survivors and search for trapped victims were still ongoing.

“The area has been cordoned off to allow for seamless rescue operations. I can’t confirm any number of casualities as rescue operation is on-going,” Oke-Osanyitolu told Vanguard.
