A dad was hit over the head with a hammer by a group of callous thugs in an horrific street attack.
A gang of four launched the seemingly unprovoked attack on dad David Beck as he walked back from the shop with a friend in Coventry.
The ambush on the father-of-two happened last weekend, with one of those who attacked him reportedly having a gun.
Passers-by came to David’s aid last Sunday, helping him get to his mother’s house nearby where ambulance crews were called before they took him to hospital.
The 29-year-old suffered a number of injuries to his head and body.
David, who is dad to Olivia, six, and two-year-old Ronnie, told CoventryLive : “I turned around and they were just there. I think there was four of them and three were hitting me with hammers.”
