Dana White did not hold back.

The UFC president was asked Saturday night what he thought about Oscar De La Hoya making a return to boxing at the age of 47.

“Cocaine isn’t cheap,” White said. “It’s expensive. Gotta make money.”

De La Hoya recently told 360aproko he was coming out of retirement, 12 years after he last fought in the ring, retiring in his corner after the eighth round against Manny Pacquiao. His comeback, unlike Mike Tyson’s, isn’t just for an exhibition.

“It’s a real fight,” he told 360aproko. “I miss being in the ring, I love boxing. Boxing is what gave me everything I have today, and I just miss it.”

White and De La Hoya have previously engaged in a war of words, with White two years ago calling De La Hoya a “cokehead nutball” after De La Hoya’s Golden Boy MMA held a Tito Ortiz-Chuck Liddell fight. De La Hoya has criticized White for not paying UFC fighters enough.

White, 51, is set to speak Thursday at the Republican National Convention.
