Diplo is on a high for New Year’s!
The DJ, 46, revealed while being interviewed on New Year’s Eve Live with Andy Cohen & Anderson Cooper on Tuesday, Dec. 31, that he was currently tripping on LSD to shocked co-hosts Andy Cohen and Anderson Cooper.
In a video posted by Pop Crave on X (formerly Twitter), Cohen, 56, asked Diplo as he appeared on the special by video transmission, “What’s the most conventional place that you’ve done LSD?” Diplo responded, “Right now.”
“Right now?” Cohen exclaimed as Cooper, 57, burst out laughing.
“Yeah, I did some on the helicopter, on the way here,” replied Diplo as Cooper keeled over in more fits of giggles. “I’m not even lying,” he added.

“Oh my God, hold on … please tell me — You’re tripping right now?” Cohen said.
“Yeah, but it’s like a light trip,” Diplo shared. He explained that he was “microdosing” and that he could have “macrodosed” earlier in the day, per The Hollywood Reporter.
Cooper praised the music producer following the interview, saying per the outlet, “I wish I was Diplo. I got to say. I just think he has a fun, cool lifestyle. Can you imagine his lifestyle? ‘I’m Diplo. I do things.’ ”

The presenter shared that he hadn’t been following Diplo on Instagram before the interview — but he will now. “I’m absolutely going to start,” Cooper said, per The Hollywood Reporter. “I mean … I feel bad about my own boring life compared to Diplo’s. He’s got helicopters and he’s like doing things.”
The co-host added that Diplo “did like four shots while we were talking,” saying in admiration, “And he’s going to play. How does he work? How does anybody do anything? I’ve had four shots. I just want to go to sleep.”

Diplo’s appearance on CNN’s NYE special comes as he also performed three shows in Los Angeles on New Year’s Eve. The DJ posted several videoson his Instagram Stories of his shows at Avalon Hollywood in which he appeared unfazed by his partakings from earlier in the day.
Diplo’s LSD confession comes after he spoke about finding his activity on TikTok “cringey” in an interview with The Wall Street Journal‘s Katherine Finnerty at Journal House at Cannes Lions published on June 19.
“For me as a musician… I’m also a DJ/producer — I wasn’t a brand. When you watch Doja Cat or Lil Nas X on their TikTok, they are just geniuses with it. They know how to work that medium so well,” he said. “I’m 45. When I make a TikTok I always think it’s pretty cringey what I’m doing … Sometimes I make things that are funny but it’s really a young person’s format.”
