A Disneyland employee has died from injuries she sustained after falling out of a golf cart while on the job.
The employee — who was identified as 60-year-old Bonnye Mavis Lear of Fullerton, California, per CBS News — fell from a moving golf cart and struck her head at the California theme park on June 5, according to the Anaheim Police Department.
First responders arrived at Disneyland Resort just before 11:30 a.m. local time “regarding a traffic collision that occurred backstage,” police said.
Lear was found in “grave condition” following the incident and was transported to a local hospital, according to police. Two days later, on June 7, she died of her injuries.
Anaheim Police Traffic Detectives, who also responded to the scene of the collision, are currently investigating the collision that led to Lear’s death, police said.
Disneyland did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.
In a statement obtained by PEOPLE, Disneyland Resort President Ken Potrock expressed his condolences to the late employee’s loved ones.
“We are heartbroken by the loss of Bonnye and offer our sincere condolences to everyone who cared for her,” he said.
Potrock added, “At this time, we are focused on supporting her family and our cast members through this tragic event and making sure they have the resources they need.”
Lear worked in Club 33, a private dining club in the New Orleans Square area of the park, according to CBS News and local outlet ABC 7.
She worked for the resort for 24 years.
