Donald Trump made some shocking claims in his latest speech while running for president.
During his Las Vegas rally on June 9, the former president claimed that a die-hard MAGA fan would contemplate suicide before voting for President Joe Biden.
Trump, 77, is on the campaign trail following his conviction on 34 counts of falsified business records in late May. He previously lost the 2020 election to Biden.
While speaking to a crowd in Las Vegas in temperature exceeding 100 degrees, Trump bragged about one of his supporters who had attended more than 200 of his rallies.
“Wouldn’t it be incredible—he’s gone to 250—if he voted for Biden?” He said, according to a clip from the rally. “He’s going to vote for Biden? I don’t think so. It would be suicide before Biden, right?”
Far-right extremism researcher Noelle Cook was among the many stunned by his remarks.
“In Las Vegas, Trump points to a follower in the audience that he calls ‘front row Joe’ and then tells the crowd ‘that it would be suicide before Biden’ got Joe’s vote,” cook posted on X . “He gets more dangerous by the day.”
The former president also joked on Sunday that he was more focused on getting people’s votes than caring for his supporters, referencing the many supporters who left the rally early due to the sweltering heat.
“I don’t want anybody going on me,” he said “We need every voter. I don’t care about you. I just want your vote. I don’t care.” He then claimed that the media would find a way to twist those words.
Trump returns to the campaign trail following his so-called “hush money” trial, which centered around a broader scheme to corrupt the 2016 presidential election. He is now the first president to become a convicted felon.
On May 30, Trump was found guilty o all 34 counts of falsified business records related to how he covered up a payment made to adult film star stormy Daniels in the final days of the 2016 election.
He will be sentenced on July 11 and could face up to four years in prison for the crimes.
