“It was just a dream come true,” Donna Kelce tells PEOPLE of appearing in the Hallmark Christmas movie
Donna Kelce isn’t sure if she’ll return to acting after making her Hallmark debut.
The mom to NFL stars Travis and Jason Kelce recently appeared in two Hallmark movies — Christmas on Call and Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story, which is based on Travis’ team.
Speaking with PEOPLE at the Nov. 29 Chiefs game against the Las Vegas Raiders, Donna, 72, dished on whether she would be taking on any other movie roles in the future.
“You know, who knows?” she said. “You never know that kind of thing. But for right now, that was kind of fun for me. It was enough. I just really had a good time with everybody at Hallmark. They treated me so well, and I’m just really excited that I got to do this. It was just a dream come true.”

Holiday Touchdown, which starred Tyler Hynes and Hunter King, was filmed at the Chiefs’ home stadium in Kansas City, which Donna gushed was “awesome” after 11 years of going there to support her son.
Although Travis has also taken up acting recently, making an appearance in the new series Grotesquerie, Donna said the two haven’t been exchanging advice. “We leave each other alone when it comes to that,” she joked. “He has his way. I’ve got mine. So we’re both authentic though.”
With it being her first time in a movie, Donna admitted she was “a little bit nervous” to make her debut, but the cast and crew welcomed her with open arms.
“There’s just so many wonderful people at Hallmark that make you feel right at home that it’s just so loving and such a great environment,” she shared. “I had a great time.”
Even now, she said she keeps in touch with some of the people she worked with, including Hynes.
“We send each other little laughing moments here and there, it’s kind of fun,” she said. “I’ve been following him doing the cruise and all that stuff, and Hunter.”

She has been supporting them from afar, telling PEOPLE she has been watching their other movies as the holidays approach. “I just really like some of the bromances and all that kind of stuff,” she teased.
Donna also opened up about her family’s reactions to the acting gigs, saying her biggest fans have been her grandchildren, who Jason shares with wife Kylie Kelce.
“They loved it,” she revealed. “My little grandchildren just kept saying, ‘Play it back, play it back. We want to see DeeDee.’ So that was kind of fun.”

As for the Kelce family’s holiday plans, Donna said she and Jason’s family go together to pick out a Christmas tree in Pennsylvania, where he lives, and then decorate it throughout the month. She also revealed she enjoys baking during the holiday season.
“I bake cookies, I bake rolls, I’ll bake pies, things like that,” she said. “I’m not really a cook — I can get away with things — I do some stuff. And I don’t barbecue but I do bake.”
Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story next airs Wednesday, Dec. 4 at 8 p.m. ET followed by Christmas on Call at 10 p.m. ET on The Hallmark Channel.
