Crystal Palace attacking midfielder, Eberechi Eze is reportedly facing more than six months on the sidelines after suffering a serious Achilles injury in training.

The England U21 star suffered an injury in training on Tuesday, May 18, according to The Athletic. Eze will visit a specialist for scans and further treatment on Wednesday, with surgery likely required to fix the problem.

If the scans reveal the worst, Eze could be ruled out well into next season.

Eze who was born in England to parents of Nigerian descent, represented England at the Under 20 and Under 21 level. He has scored four goals in 29 Premier League starts for Crystal Palace this season following his signing from QPR for £16m.

This comes a day after Palace boss, Roy Hodgson said he was not aware of the severity of the injury when he gave his press conference, where he also confirmed his imminent departure from the club.
