The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama has disclosed that the evacuation of Nigerians from different countries in the world is reaching its saturation point.
The Minister who said this at the Presidential Task Force Briefing on COVID-19 on Monday May 11, said there are now over 600 evacuees in Lagos and Abuja. He further revealed that the ministry will now slow the evacuation process a bit for space, before bringing in more citizens.
Though Onyeama noted that the evacuation of Nigerians from Dubai, UK and New York was successful, he also averred that a lot went wrong with logistics in the case of passengers who were transported to Abuja. He added that a better arrangement will be made to prevent any future recurrence.
