A former flight attendant who had sex with a 15-year-old schoolboy has been freed after spending only a week behind bars.
Melissa Nosti had sex with the teenage student at a school where she used to work as an attendance officer in 2010, when she was about 23-years-old.
Last week, the former Tiger Air flight attendant was sentenced to 18 months in jail with a six-month non-parole period after pleading guilty.
But after spending only a week in jail the 33-year-old was released as her lawyer successfully lodged a bail appeal, arguing she posed a “low risk” of reoffending and was successful in gaining employment.
Magistrate Susan Horan said a victim impact statement from Nosti’s victim was “compelling” before granting her bail.
