Men of the FCT police command attached to the anti-nov -kidnapping unit and the Rubochi Division Police Headquarters rescued 14 kidnapped victims on Wednesday, February 14.
A statement from the spokesperson of the command, SP Josephine Adeh, says the combined team, acting on credible intelligence stormed a Kidnapper’s den located at Ukya village via Nasarawa state bordering FCT and on sighting the police operatives, the hoodlums opened fire on the police operatives which resulted in gun duel. She said the police operatives neutralized one of the kidnappers as the rest scampered to a nearby forest with various degrees of bullet wounds.
Adeh added that the hostages who were rescued unhurt have since been reunited with their loved ones.
She mentioned that the Commissioner of Police, FCT, CP Haruna G. Garba, wishes to reiterate his commitment to rid FCT of Criminality in all its manifestations and maintenance of peace for all and sundry.
